Here is the 1st email that I received from the Duvet Dollars program. Remember how I was
wary of the similar format to Average Joe Marketer, well this information is different
so lets have a read and come to our conclusions:
Hi paul,
Welcome back to the Duvet Dollars e-mail
course... I'm sure by now you've undertaken
lots of research into potential online
business ventures. And if you're anything
like me when I first started, you need a bit
of help!
You see, there was always one particular part
of starting an online business that really
slowed me down - and that was selecting the
right products to sell. I just didn't know
where to look or what to choose... and that's
why I've included an entire chapter from one
of my Duvet Dollars e-books, all about finding
profitable products...

Tip #1 - Target Niche Products
First up, here is a pretty definitive 1ist of
which type of products will make you the highest
commissions per sale in affiliate schemes:
* Internet gambling/casinos
* Online pharmaceutical drugs
* Web hosting services
* C.re.dit cards
* Diet pills and plans
* Loans and mortgages
* Debt consolidation
* Software products
The fact is you can make a lot of money -
if you are skilful at advertising these
products. But there is a snag - because of
the high commissions, everybody wants to
market these products. The competition in
these categories is very fierce indeed. And,
the more competition there is, the more
money you will be spending on advertising -
so the more it will cut into the high
commissions and the more skilled you'll need
to be. BUT, think like I do. Competition
means that there's plenty of money to be made.
You shouldn't shy away from competition...
EVER!
Tip #2 - Only Work with Quality Products
This applies to any successful business but
it's especially important with affiliate
marketing. The product you select must be
good quality for its type. And be sure to look
behind the sales literature, i.e. the web page
or sales letter used by the product owner. If
the sales page is impressive but the product
is disappointing there will be a lot of refunds
and you'll lose most, if not all, of your
pro.fits.
Also take into account the returns level. If a
product is of poor quality and is returned, you
will lose your commission, even if you did
nothing wrong! That's why it's very important
to choose a product that's high in quality and
has few returns. You will experience refunds
and returns - this is just part of business.
But, you want as few as possible and the only
way to achieve this is to work with good
quality products.
It can be hard to work out which affiliate
products are going to have fewer returns than
others. You could try it yourself to see
whether you feel you want to return it. Or, if
not, do some research and find out what other
people think of the product.
If you are using an affiliate network like
ClickBank, they often give out this information.
This helps you spot the top selling products and
how they rank against other products. ClickBank
ranks each affiliate product according to sales
performance. If an affiliate product is ranked
pretty high, you can be sure that the product's
return rate will be fairly low. Most of the time,
if a product is poor in quality it won't have
very good ratings here.

Alright so here are my thoughts about these tips. Victoria is correct in what she is
saying. The fact that you need to find a quality product is one of the most important
things when it comes to business, she has been nice enough to give a list of the best
categories and points out that competition is good. Some people may disagree with this
however there are different styles of marketing. You can go for a niche where there is
little competition but at the same time a small amount of consumers or go for a high
traffic product where you may get a small percentage of overall customers but there is
a huge amount of over all customers.
e.g. 5% of 1,000,000 = 100,000 (that is still a lot of sales)
There is no right or wrong way simply different techniques for different methods of
marketing.
Using clickbank is the easiest way to find quality products in certain categories as
well.
